South Knox School Superintendent Tim Grove says he has no regrets as he leaves the corporation…
Earlier this year the South Knox School Board voted 4 to 1 to buy out Grove’s last year on his contract and search for a new superintendent.
Reasons for the action, reportedly were related to an incident and actions concerning the boys varsity basketball coach.
The buyout was not received well by the community who spoke out against the decision.
Since then many who attend South Knox meetings say they have conceded that it is time to move on while expressing their support for Grove and asking the board to allow the public and administrators to be involved in the process of hiring Grove’s replacement.
A survey was recently sent out to the community asking for what they would like to see in a corporation leader.
At Tuesday’s school board meeting it was announced that 220 people responded.
Board President Eric Carter summarized what the surveys said…
The board was scheduled to be meeting in executive session today to interview 4 prospective candidates for superintendent.
Carter says building principals would not be involved in the first round of interviews explaining that decision was made at the recommendation of the Indiana State Boards Association
Meanwhile Grove’s last day on the job is June 30th. He will not attend the scheduled June 20th meeting.
We asked him about this future plans….
