A man accused of murdering his daughter was in Knox Superior Court Tuesday for an initial hearing.
63-year-old Fritzner Antoine was arrested on Saturday shortly after police were called to 1424 Audubon Road in Vincennes where 30-year-old Sterline Antoine Joseph was pronounced dead at the scene after her father allegedly had stabbed her several times.
At Tuesday’s hearing Gary Brock was appointed as counsel for Antoine who remains jailed without bond at the Knox County Security Center.
His preliminary trial date was set for October 10th.
The probable cause affidavit reportedly states that Antoine gave a full confession and told police he meant to quote “flog” his daughter for being quote “disrespectful to him”.
Antoine had moved to Vincennes from Florida to live with his daughter who had just recently moved to the home on Audubon Road.
