Daviess County employees are getting a 3.5% pay raise.
Daviess County Council President Tom Schaffer, representing the council’s Wage Committee, recommended a 4% raise after he said the committee had studied the matter and found that Daviess County has a low pay scale compared to other counties it’s size.
He said the raise is needed to attract and keep good employees.
Council member Mike Sprinkle came back with a 3% raise proposal based on economic factors.
In the end the council compromised with the 3.5% increase.
The raises go into affect next year.
