Young Knox County baseball enthusiasts will have a better place to play if a crowdfunding campaign reaches its goal of raising $50,000 by July 7
The project is led by the Vincennes Cub League (VCL) which will receive a matching grant as part of the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority’s (IHCDA) CreatINg Places program.
Funds from this campaign will be used to update the existing Babe Ruth League Field with safer bleachers, press boxes, poles for netting, new infield irrigation, new sod, upgrades to the dugout and improvements to the scoreboard so more young people and players can enjoy the facility.
Vincennes Cub League Board Member Chad Deckard says they are excited for the project and are committed to providing top quality facilities to the players and families in Vincennes and the surrounding communities.
With the makeover of Veterans’ Field, they look to expand our league play for the 13-to-16-year-olds as well as provide an ideal facility for the Vincennes Clark Middle School baseball teams.
Since the CreatINg Places program began in 2016, projects have raised more than $10.7 million in public funds and an additional $8.9 million in matching IHCDA funds.
