As Indiana faces an urgent need for blood products, the Knox County Health Department is partnering with Versiti Blood Center of Indiana to host a mobile blood drive on Monday, September 16th. The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot behind the Bierhaus Building at 328 N. 2nd Street in Vincennes.

Dr. Alan Stewart, Knox County Health Officer, emphasized the importance of community participation: saying “This blood drive represents an essential opportunity for our community to come together and support Hoosiers in need. Versiti Blood Center of Indiana supplies most of the blood products used at Good Samaritan.”

Versiti has announced a fall incentive where Blood donors and football fans can be entered into the “Rush In To Donate Sweepstakes”. It offers donors an opportunity to win two tickets to a professional home football game and a VIP experience with merchandise.

Eligible donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment online, though walk-ins are welcome and may experience a short wait. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health. Participants should eat a healthy meal, stay hydrated, and bring a photo ID and a list of any medications.

For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact the Knox County Health Department at 812-882-8700.
