Alleged School Threat Results in Felony Charges

A student at Wood Memorial High School was taken into custody Thursday after allegedly making threats, according to the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident began when East Gibson School Resource Officer Jim Tucker notified Sheriff Bruce Vanoven about the situation at 9:48 a.m.

Detectives were dispatched to the school to begin an investigation which led to the Sheriff transporting the juvenile to the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office before transferring the student to a regional juvenile detention center.

The unnamed student is being held on a Level 6 felony charge for threatening to commit a forcible felony.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.

The nature of the threat was not released.
