Dirt Biker Flees from Police

Authorities released details Monday concerning a Sunday police chase in Sullivan County.

On Sunday, October 6, 2024, around 4:30 p.m., Farmersburg Police officers noticed a man allegedly driving a dirt bike erratically on CR200E. The motorist ran a stop sign and nearly collided with a vehicle.

Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the dirt bike fled into a cornfield.

Hymera Town Marshal D. Cullison later found the suspect on foot, leading to a brief foot chase and altercation before the man was detained.

The 41-year-old Shelburn man faces preliminary charges, including resisting law enforcement and battery against a public safety official.

His name was not released.
