This weekend there is a plethora of holiday themed events throughout Vincennes.

Friday is the annual Parade of Lights illuminating downtown Vincennes with this year’s theme, Winter Wonderland.  It starts at 6:30 p.m.

Christmas at Grouseland also happens Friday as visitors will enjoy the historic William Henry Harrison mansion glowing by candlelight, showcasing how the holidays were celebrated over 200 years ago.

In addition this Friday is the First Friday Art Walk with lots to see including John Puffer’s photography to the Spouse Series at Open Gallery, and Sarah Wolfe’s nature-inspired sculptures at Shircliff, there’s something for everyone including live music, and unique Christmas shopping opportunities.

Friday and Saturday downtown Vincennes transforms into a traditional German holiday market. The Christkindlemrkt features handcrafted gifts, and food and drink all in a festive atmosphere.

Later this month at the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center you can rock out with Seger System, a tribute to Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. That will be on December 12th.

At Old Towne Players this month is  the play Kringle’s Window the story of two sisters navigating their parents’ separation during Christmas while a mysterious mentor, shows up and restores the family’s holiday spirit. Shows are this weekend and next.
