PACE Community Action Agency is offering vital programs to support local residents this winter. Courtney Welage, PACE’s Communications Manager, highlights their Energy Assistance Program, which helps qualifying households with utility costs. Applications are open through April, and with processing times up to 55 days, residents are urged to apply early. Applications are available at pacecaa.org or at any of their locations in the region and also at most local libraries.
PACE is also collecting new or gently used children’s books for its Head Start program through December 12th. Donations can be dropped off at any PACE location during business hours. The books will be distributed to Head Start classrooms serving children ages 0-5 across the region.
This Saturday, PACE will host a free children’s activity booth at the First City Kris Kringle Market in Patrick Henry Square from 10 AM to 1 PM. Kids can enjoy crafts, games, and storytelling, with free Christmas books available for the first 150 children.
