Get ready for a full weekend of Christmas cheer and activities in Vincennes as the First City Christkindlmarkt and Festival brings the holiday spirit to life.
The festivities kick off this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. with the Christkindlmarkt at Patrick Henry Square. Visitors can enjoy food, crafts, vendors, Santa visits, and live entertainment. The market continues Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Friday evening features the annual Lighted Christmas Parade at 6:30 p.m. through downtown Vincennes, followed by the festive Christmas Tree Lighting at Patrick Henry Square.
Other highlights on Friday include Christmas at Grouseland from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., where you can enjoy candlelit tours, period decorations, and entertainment at the William Henry Harrison Mansion for a donation. Meanwhile, the Vincennes Historic Sites will host an 1800s Christmas Program from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., offering a glimpse into holiday traditions of the past.
The Old Town Players also open their December production, Kringles Window, Friday night, with performances Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. The show continues next weekend as well.
Saturday morning starts bright and early with Breakfast in Whoville at the St. Francis Xavier Parish. Beginning at 7:30 a.m. It’s an an all-you-can-eat breakfast for $10 with special guests The Grinch and Cindy Lou. The cost benefits the Patriot Travel Group’s trip to Europe.
Later on Saturday, the YMCA Frosty 5K steps off at 5:00 p.m. in downtown Vincennes. From 5:00 to 10:00 p.m., adults can join the Frosty Mug Pub Crawl, visiting local establishments for a $10 fee. Pre-registration is required on Eventbrite, and participation is limited to the first 200 people.
Christmas celebrations extend to Monroe City on Saturday evening with their Christmas Extravaganza, featuring the popular Lighted Tractor Parade.
