The Vincennes Community School Corporation held a public hearing last night on a proposed multi-phase renovation and repair project for its secondary schools and other facilities. Superintendent Greg Parsley and legal advisor Jeff Qualkinbush explained the $15.5 million annual funding plan, which would run for three years and include upgrades at Lincoln High School, Clark Middle School, and the Washington Learning Academy.

Phase one, slated to begin in summer 2025, focuses on Lincoln High School, with roof replacement, a new culinary arts lab, and playground improvements at Franklin Elementary. Future phases may address additional renovations, including restroom updates, expanded cafeteria space, and track and football facility upgrades.

No one from the public had any comments at this first hearing which is required by Indiana law for projects exceeding $1 million.

Another hearing is scheduled for January 13 to continue public discussion.  It’s at 8 a.m. at the VCSC Administration Building.
