A Washington man accused of attempted murder had his initial hearing on Monday.
22-year-old Kyle Hovis was arrested December 11th in connection with the stabbing of 47 year old Daniel Meinhart.
Emergency personnel were summoned to Hillcrest Avenue on that afternoon where they found Meinhart with multiple stab wounds to the head and neck.
Hovis was subsequently arrested for the stabbing and booked into the Daviess County Security Center.
At Monday’s initial hearing in Daviess Superior Court Hovis was officially charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery, battery resulting in serious bodily injury and battery by means of a deadly weapon.
Hovis court appointed attorney was Steven Teverbaugh and a pre-trial conference was set for January 28th and a preliminary trial date was set for 9 a.m. on June 17th, 2025.
