Three incidents on Tuesday kept Washington Police officers busy.
1st Shift responded to a residence on East Hefron Street for a reported motorcycle theft. Later in the day, the stolen motorcycle was located at an apartment complex on South Meridian Street. During the investigation, officers encountered 35-year-old Robert Thompson of Washington. Thompson was arrested without incident for theft of a vehicle and for a warrant related to a petition to revoke his suspended sentence.
In another case, police were called to the area of Northwest 16th Street and Cherry Street Tuesday following reports of a vehicle crash involving a man with a firearm. Officers detained 20-year-old Pierre Charles of Washington at the scene. Investigations revealed that the crash stemmed from an ongoing domestic issue. An airsoft gun resembling a handgun was recovered, and Charles faces multiple charges, including battery with a deadly weapon and reckless driving.
Additionally, officers arrested 18-year-old Emery Bibbs near the Washington library on Tuesday. Bibbs was wanted on a warrant for sexual misconduct with a minor, following an investigation by a Washington police detective and the Daviess County Department of Child Services. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
