WIN Energy REMC Community Trust has awarded over $12,000 in grants to local organizations through its Operation Round Up program, which allows members to round up their electric bills to the nearest dollar.
Three organizations received grants in this latest round. The Humane Society of Sullivan County received $250 for a new chip scanner for pets. The Old Town Players received $4,260.80 for a new HVAC unit for their theater. The 4-H Council of Pike County was awarded $7,637 to remodel restrooms in their building to make them ADA compliant.
Since launching in May 2013, the Operation Round Up program has awarded 238 grants totaling over $739,000.
