Knox County government and Vincennes City offices have reopened following last week’s icy weather. County offices and court proceedings are operating on regular schedules, while Vincennes trash collection is planned for Thursday and Friday, pending reevaluation on Wednesday. Residents are encouraged to stay updated through the Vincennes app or Mayor Joe Yochum’s social media.

Power outages remain a concern across southwest Indiana. CenterPoint Energy reports 30,000 customers were still without power early Tuesday, down from nearly 60,000 at the peak. Affected areas include Pike, Gibson, Warrick, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Posey Counties. Crews are working to restore service, but icy conditions and falling branches are causing delays, with some outages expected to last several days. Residents without power are urged to use warming centers. Updates are available on CenterPoint’s website.

In Knox County, the travel advisory was downgraded to a “watch” Monday evening, indicating improved but still hazardous road conditions. Officials advise limiting travel to essential purposes, as many secondary roads, bridges, and overpasses remain ice-covered and dangerous.

Surrounding counties report varied travel statuses. Pike and Sullivan Counties remain under Red Warnings, while Daviess, Gibson, Greene, and Martin are on Travel Watches. Dubois County has the lowest advisory level, a Yellow Advisory.
