THE VINCENNES COMMUNITY SCHOOL CORPORATION BOARD MET THIS MORNING FOR ITS JANUARY SESSION.
KARLA SMITH AND KOLBY KERZAN WERE SWORN IN AS BOARD MEMBERS, KERZAN IS THE NEWEST ADDITION TO THE BOARD.
THE BOARD HOSTED ITS SECOND PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED RENOVATIONS TO VCSC FACILITIES. THE PROJECT, ESTIMATED TO COST OVER $15.5 MILLION ANNUALLY FOR THREE YEARS, AIMS TO ADDRESS ROOFING, PLAYGROUNDS, AND CLASSROOM UPGRADES, AMONG OTHER NEEDS.
LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL IS CONSIDERING LEAVING THE SOUTHERN INDIANA ATHLETIC CONFERENCE TO JOIN THE WESTERN INDIANA CONFERENCE. PRINCIPAL, DR. SHEA DUKE AND ATHLETIC DIRECTOR CHRIS LANCASTER CITED BETTER COMPETITIVE BALANCE AND ALIGNMENT WITH COMMUNITY VALUES AS KEY FACTORS IN THE PROPOSAL. THE FIRST STEP IN THE PROCESS IS TO APPLY FOR ADMISSION TO THE CONFERENCE. IF LINCOLN LEAVES THE S-I-A-C, IT WILL REQUIRE A $10,000 DOLLAR BUYOUT.
