The Knox County Emergency Management Agency has received a boost for emergency preparedness from Duke Energy.

District Manager for Duke, Kurt Phegley presented an $11,000 check to EMA Director John Streeter and Deputy Director Renee Schopmeyer.

The funds will be used to help replace essential emergency response equipment that has deteriorated, become outdated, or is no longer usable.

The funds will help the local EMA continue to serve Knox County residents in the event of natural or man made disasters and emergencies.
