Area communities have received over $7.5 million in road funding grants. The funds come from the latest Community Crossings Matching Grant Program (CCMG) awards.

CCMG, established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2016, helps improve local roads and bridges by providing state matching funds for infrastructure projects. Since its inception, more than $2 billion has been awarded statewide.

Grants include $1.5 million each for Knox, and Sullivan counties. Pike County received almost $1.5 million.  Daviess County receives over $1.1 million, and Martin County gets a similar amount. Smaller awards go to communities like Wheatland, Oaktown, Washington, Shoals, Merom, and Shelburn,

State Senator Eric Bassler of District 39 commented that strong infrastructure is key to economic growth, and programs like CCMG help local governments maintain safe and reliable roads.
