The Vincennes Historical Half Marathon returns for its fourth year on April 26, adding a new 10K route alongside the half marathon, 5K, and free kids’ fun run.

Race director Allie Bobe says the event continues to attract runners from across the country. “I’ve seen people from Michigan, Kentucky, and Georgia signing up this year. Last year, we had someone from Alaska and Montana, which was super cool. A lot of people travel for these things, and I think they’re drawn to how unique it is—visiting Indiana’s first city, seeing all the quaint little things we have here. We’re kind of becoming a roadmap stop.”

Planning the routes comes with challenges, including navigating around railroad tracks, but Bobe says they adjust the course each year. “It’s fun because we get to be creative with it.”

Registration is open at  www.vincenneshalf.com  with an April 1 deadline to guarantee a T-shirt and medal. Volunteers can also sign up online. For more details, visit the event’s Facebook page.
