Duke Awards 3 Grants to Knox Co.

Knox County has received three out of seven grants from the Duke Energy Foundation.

All of the grants will be utilized for various conservation efforts.

A Duke Energy press release reports that the Vincennes Parks & Recreation Department received $12,000 to continue improvements at Gregg Park.

The county’s Soil and Water Conservation District was awarded $10,000 to support public outreach tied to local watershed planning efforts.

In addition, the Vincennes University Foundation will use a $10,000 grant to fight soil erosion at the university’s Agriculture Center.

Other recipients included the Covered Bridge Gateway Trails Association in Parke County; the reThink Love the Earth Campaign in Vigo County; the Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department for a disc golf course and community building; and the town of Harmony in Clay County for a Harmony Park restoration project.
