Two people were found dead in Huntingburg Monday.  The suspected cause of one death is a dog attack.

Emergency responders were called to 107 North Geiger Street around 3:37 p.m. on Monday.  An adult woman and juvenile were located inside, both unresponsive.

After lifesaving efforts were attempted, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.   The child was transported to Deaconess Memorial Hospital, and was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police say a dog attack is believed to have caused at least one of the deaths. All dogs found inside the home were removed. The Indiana State Police Crime Scene Unit was called in to process the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, but police say there is no foul play suspected and no threat to public safety.
