The state has permanently revoked the license of a Knox County auto dealer following a fraud investigation.

Banks One Stop Auto, located south of Vincennes near U.S. 41 and East Essex Road, was found to have submitted falsified forms to the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. The Indiana Secretary of State’s Auto Dealer Services Division also determined the dealership used another person’s signature without consent on as many as 92 documents.

The investigation began July 31, 2024, and concluded with the owners—James and Tanna Banks—being permanently banned from owning or operating any dealership in Indiana.

The dealership must return all metal dealer plates within 30 days and pay a $250 fine. Failure to comply could result in additional penalties, including a $500 fine for unreturned plates.
