State officials will be in Vincennes later this month to celebrate pickleball.
Restoration of the Gregg Park pickleball court got underway in early April and will be complete very soon.
Through a partnership with the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, the Vincennes Pickleball Club was able to raise over $100,200 in a Patronicity grant and then receive another fifty-thousand dollars in matching funds for the work that includes a new surface, new nets, new fencing and much more.
Vice President of the Vincennes Pickleball Club Reginna Blinn, who serves on the Vincennes City Council told the council on Monday that a grand opening is scheduled for May 29th at 1-pm and Indiana Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch hash confirmed she will attend.
Blinn says that officials from the Housing and Development Authority have also been invited.
Following the grand opening the courts will be open for play.
