Vincennes School Board approves several hires

The Vincennes Community School Board approved several personnel matters on Monday.

The regular monthly meeting was the last one before school starts next month.

At the meeting the board voted unanimously in favor of hiring Amy Theriac  as a 3rd grade teacher at Tecumseh-Harrison Elementary.  She would be moving to Vincennes from a teaching teaching position in Illinois.

Also hired was Michaela Armstrong as a school counselor at Tecumseh-Harrison and Vigo Elementaries. She has interned at schools in Loogootee and Bloomington.

Jaime Flemming was hired as a 5th grade teacher at Vigo.  She has taught in several other states and her family has now settled in Indiana.

Madison Meade was hired as a second theater tech instructor at the middle and high school.

Tonya Dunn was hired for the 7th grade ELA position at Clark Middle School.

Shay Ross was approved as a 4th grade teacher at Tecumseh-Harrison.

Those were just a few of the hires or transfers approved on Monday.

The board also adopted the 2024-25 school calender.

The first day of classes at Vincennes Community Schools is August 8th.
