A Vincennes man is behind bars following a traffic stop on the night of October 2.

Knox County deputies pulled over a silver Chevy Impala at North 2nd Street and Chicago Avenue around 10:30 p.m., driven by 39-year-old Keith Adams.

Deputies discovered that Adams was driving with a suspended license. A K-9 unit was brought in, and the dog alerted officers to the presence of illegal drugs. A subsequent search revealed 1.6 grams of methamphetamine in Adams’ possession.

Adams was arrested and taken to the Knox County Jail, where he was charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony, and driving while suspended with a prior conviction, a class A misdemeanor. He remains in custody with a $5,000 bond.
