Local disaster response organization Helping His Hands has been hard at work this week, providing much-needed relief for those impacted by Hurricane Helene and severe flooding in the South.
Volunteers and leaders have been organizing and loading vehicles with supplies, preparing for multiple trips to deliver essential items. This week’s relief efforts have focused on providing hygiene products, paper goods, and bottled water to those in need.
Kim Burkhart, a local resident who donated supplies, shared why she believes giving is so important:
“During times like this, it shows the true character of who people are. It doesn’t matter what color your skin is, who you are, or your political affiliation. We’re all humans, and God calls us to help each other, especially in times of great need.”
