Vincennes University is reflecting on 2024. Indiana’s First College released a list of the top ten stories celebrating its various milestones, achievements, and successes
Among the highlights, VU broke ground on its largest-ever construction project, the $33.9 million Center for Health Sciences and Active Learning, a facility designed to address critical healthcare workforce needs. The university also welcomed its largest incoming class since 2021, with nearly 1,100 new students this fall.
A historic $750,000 endowment from Ro and Shorty Whittington created the first faculty-focused fund, supporting innovation and development in agriculture and education. Meanwhile, VU’s partnership with Amazon surpassed 1,000 graduates in the Mechatronics and Robotics Apprenticeship program.
Other major moments included VU’s recognition by Forbes Advisor for its RN-to-BSN online degree and celebrating 15 consecutive years of 100% pharmacy school acceptance.
In addition there was the retirement of legendary coach and athletic director Harry Meeks and thousands gathering in Vincennes and on campus to witness the Great American Eclipse back in April.
