New hires are also required to earn EMT certification in their first year.
The department responds to over 2,800 calls a year with four stations and promises growth opportunities, specialized training, and competitive pay. Starting salaries are over 54-thousand dollars, with first-class firefighter pay reaching 62-thousand after two years. Pension benefits and longevity pay are also part of the package.
