The Good Samaritan Board of Governors approved its 2025 budget.  In a news release this week, Good Samaritan says they are focusing on supporting caregivers and keeping healthcare affordable for the community.

The budget includes a 4% wage increase for caregivers, funded by a $3.9 million merit-based allocation, and no rate increases for patients. President and CEO Rob McLin emphasized the importance of rewarding the hospital’s workforce, calling caregivers “the backbone of the organization.” Chief Talent Officer Tara Ellermann says the wage increases will align with performance evaluations starting in April 2025, ensuring competitive pay based on state benchmarks.

Chief Financial Officer Matt Schuckman announced that patient rates will remain unchanged, thanks to cost-control measures and operational efficiency. The hospital also plans to expand services, including a geriatric psychiatry unit and bariatric surgery in 2025.

In 2024, Good Samaritan saw continued growth in its Direct Health insurance program, now serving over 2,500 members.
