A frigid air mass is coming and First City Sunrise, a Knox County non-profit assisting the homeless, is preparing for the severe cold.
Typically, the organization focuses on helping Knox County residents committed to pursuing employment and permanent housing. However, in response to the frigid temperatures, they are temporarily extending their overnight shelter services to anyone needing a warm place to sleep. The shelter operates from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and has partnered with another facility to provide daytime accommodations.
Regardless of weather conditions, First City Sunrise remains committed to ensuring no one faces freezing temperatures without shelter.
