Nearly 30 people are headed to federal prison for their roles in a massive meth and fentanyl drug ring that operated across Southern Indiana.
Authorities say the organization trafficked nearly 500 pounds of meth and over three kilograms of fentanyl between 2020 and 2021. Investigators seized 80 pounds of meth, more than half a kilo of fentanyl, and $240,000 in drug proceeds.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of Indiana says among those sentenced are Keisha Jewell, Denny Taylor, and Aaron Hardiman, all from Princeton, who received prison terms ranging from 9 to 15 years. Julie Hunt of Petersburg was sentenced to five years.
Prosecutors say the group used firearms, robbery, and intimidation to fuel their drug operation. Federal officials call the case a major victory in the fight against deadly drug trafficking.
