Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum is updating residents on upcoming road projects, including a major paving project on Main Street set for this year.
The Mayor was in our studios recently and told us that the Main St. work will start late Spring or early Sumer.
He says the work will stretch from 7th Street to 1st, including Patrick Henry Square. However, a section between 6th and 7th will require a full excavation due to old trolley tracks beneath the surface, which will temporarily close that block.
Meanwhile, INDOT plans to install sidewalks along Hart Street from McDonald’s to Kimmel Road in 2026. The city will begin its portion of that project later this year or early next year.
INDOT also plans to add lighting at the U.S. 41 and Willow Street interchange in the future.
