Area Residents Jailed After Traffic Stop

A Vigo County traffic stop on Monday resulted in the arrest of a Knox County woman and a Daviess County man.

Deputies pulled over a vehicle near U.S. 41 and Allendale in the early morning hours, and after a preliminary investigation, a request was made for the Terre Haute K9 unit.

After a search of the vehicle, officers found approximately 131 grams of methamphetamine, 22 grams of THC gummies, $11,220 in cash, a handgun, and ammunition.

The driver, 38-year-old Monique Peach of Vincennes, was arrested for unlawful carrying of a handgun, possession of a firearm by a domestic batterer, dealing and possessing methamphetamine, and possession of a Schedule I controlled substance.

The passenger, 53-year-old Brian Riker of Plainville, was arrested for dealing and possessing methamphetamine.
