The Wabash Valley Progressives will host their annual meeting on Tuesday at the Harmony Society in Vincennes. The event is open to the public and begins with doors opening at 6 p.m. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.

Attendees are invited to enjoy a bowl of soup inspired by the traditional “Three Sisters” crops—corn, beans, and squash. The featured speaker is Burgundy Fletcher, Tribal Historic Preservation Officer for the Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma.  Officials say Fletcher was instrumental in helping with education and interpretation for Minooteeni Park.

The event is free to attend, and a cash bar will be available. Organizers say the meeting will highlight the group’s accomplishments and ongoing efforts in areas including arts and culture, economic justice, education, environmental conservation, health, political reform, and social equality.

Wabash Valley Progressives is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit based in Vincennes. RSVPs can be sent to wabashvalleyprogressives@gmail.com.
