Knox County Chamber Reveals Award Winners

The Knox County Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners of the 109th Annual Awards, honoring individuals and organizations for their leadership and service to the community.

Vincennes Industrial Supply was named Small Business of the Year for its longstanding commitment to excellence and community support. Sunrise Coal LLC earned Large Business of the Year, recognized as one of the county’s top employers with a strong record of community investment.

Kristi Morron, owner of Attic Salt Boutique, was named Business Woman of the Year. Morron opened the store in 2017 and remains active in downtown development and youth mentorship through the Knox County CEO program.

Educator of the Year went to Parker Newman, a special education teacher at Tecumseh-Harrison Elementary, nominated by a student for his dedication to children with special needs.

Chief Aaron Luce was honored as Public Servant of the Year for leading the formation of the Vincennes Community Schools Police Department. Dr. William “Tom” Thompson received the C. James McCormick Community Leader of the Year award for more than 40 years of service as a family physician and community fundraiser.

The YMCA of Vincennes was named Nonprofit of the Year for its facility renovation and work with the city on the Vincennes Trolley system.

“We are excited to celebrate the outstanding contributions of these individuals and organizations,” said Chamber President Jamie Neal. “Each of these honorees plays a critical role in shaping the future of our community.”
